Transurban is the largest toll road operator in the world. The company manages and develops urban toll road networks in Australia and the United States of America and is listed in the ASX top 20.
A period of unprecedented business growth, including a number of high profile acquisitions, had meant Transurban’s operations had outgrown its procurement capacity. Bloom was engaged to rectify this situation by delivering a full Procurement Transformation program. The work undertaken by Bloom turned a previously decentralised procurement team into a highly functioning procurement operation. The team is now supported by a world class procurement system that provides governance, and real-time visibility and insight into spend that was previously not possible at Transurban.
Commonwealth Bank is Australia’s largest bank by market capitalisation and the country’s leading provider of integrated financial services. Commonwealth Bank is one of the most well-known and trusted brands in Australia.
Bloom was engaged to integrate the procurement operations of Commonwealth Bank and its recent acquisition, BankWest. Our team brought together two disparate procurement and finance organisations. Through the dashboards we developed, the company gained visibility across its operations and were able to agree more favourable terms with suppliers. In addition to the achievement of streamlined processes, our engagement has delivered actual cost savings for the Bank.
Rail Corporation New South Wales is an Australian government agency that provides metropolitan passenger rail services in Sydney and in wider New South Wales State.
Bloom was engaged by Rail Corp to assist in the support of the Procurement Transformation program. We were also tasked with improving the software platform that would ensure the success of the Procurement function. Under Bloom’s guidance, this project has redefined the way procurement operates at Rail Corp, the business now processes 92% of payments on time, the highest of any government agency, and has been recognised by The Hackett Group as a ‘Best in Class’ procurement function.
